The emotion of this piece begins by featuring a triumphant verse of "I Saw One Weary" interwoven in the orchestral arrangment. It then transitions to a calm and more curiously phrased section of the hymn that features a double flute solo. From there, the piece transitions to two very dramatic pieces of "O When Sall I See Jesus". This portrays the weight that the question "O When Sall I See Jesus" brings with it. Finally, from there the piece finally moves back into the first piece again providing a victorious last verse that goes to show how resilience in our Christian life will prepare us to see Jesus!
