This piece is a very dramatic arrangement of an early advent hymn that portrays the Christian walk throughout this dark earth and the question that is asked “How far from home?” The emotions in this arrangement bring to light the real solemnity of this question as the piece progresses. Towards the end of the piece you’ll notice a repeat of the dark and hopeless theme, but watch how it suddenly switches to a hopeful resolution which signifies that although we are trapped in this dark world, there is still hope through Christ in reaching our desired “home”.
